Lindsay Rakers has been fronting bands since high school back in Pittsburgh. Her solo career in Atlanta started with hosting open mics, and really got going when she won a radio contest and played live on 92.9 FM once a week for most of 2003. During that time, she formed Tiny Girl (a nod to the inevitable "How can that big voice come from such a tiny girl?"). In late 2004, Tiny Girl became the Lindsay Rakers Band. The name change was a pivotal career move, as Google searchers seeking this particular tiny girl were oft led astray.
